"While vacationing with my daughter in Italy in April, I had a terrible near-death experience. I overexerted myself and was rushed to the hospital because I could not breathe. They weren't unable to treat me, so they sent me to Naples where I was intubated, had a tracheotomy, a ventilator and a feeding tube through my nose, and was induced into a coma. I was flown back to the States in an ambulance jet to Good Shepherd hospital in Barrington where I finally woke up 3 weeks later. Was then sent to two more hospitals for intense therapy. It's been 8 months since I've been home and am close to 100% recovery thanks to Dr Amy. She knows so many ways to work the muscles balance and core. This is my fourth time with first choice therapy and if necessary, I will return again. Both Dr Amy and Kim are the most wonderful people I have ever met and I highly recommend first choice physical therapy to anyone considering this"

"I appreciate Alex's personal attention and expertise throughout my post-surgical foot rehab. He answered all of my questions, patiently oversaw my regimen and gave me home exercises that aided my healing process. Another practice I used that seemed more interested in maxing out its patient load and typically had me competing with other patients for a therapist's attention, but 1st Choice always gave me one-to-one care. I highly recommend them."

"Over the last 40 years I have been to many physical therapy providers. 1st Choice Physical Therapy ranks at the very top based on my new experience with them. They take a more personalized approach in a pleasant 1:1 ratio rather than a crowded room full of patients/therapists. The facility is relaxing, pleasant and inviting and the therapy helped me a lot. I highly recommend them over the other three providers I have used in the past. The subject matter expertise surpasses anything I have experienced before. I am no longer dreading having to do PT again if required. I had a whole different experience at 1st Choice ... and it was definitely for the better. Highly recommend they be your 1st choice too!"

"I have been doing pelvic floor strengthening prior to prostate surgery. I’m working with Jodi at 1st Choice. She is an excellent PT and I’m already seeing improvement just a few sessions in to the process. She takes a comprehensive and caring approach. "Dr. Alex has helped me with two major problems I had with my physical activity. I am a senior citizen concerned about staying active as long as possible . Doctor Alex was patient with me and showed me exercises that would help relieve my pain and give some muscle strength back to my problem areas. Kim, the receptionist and Dr. Alex are a great team. "I had rotator cuff surgery and went to 1st Choice for pt. Amy was my pt and she is fantastic. She got my arm moving again. It was a long rough journey but it was well worth it. She is so compassionate, caring and kind. Her expertise and encouragement helped me get my motion back in my shoulder again. I can't say enough good things about her except she is the best. 1st Choice is the only place I'd go to if I ever needed physical therapy again. "After hip surgery, I had the opportunity to work with both Linda and Jody. Each provided high-quality, intense and thorough physical therapy to help me through my recovery. While at your facility, I experienced a bit of vertigo and thankfully Linda was able to help me through that. One issue that I encountered was looking at your carpeting while experiencing vertigo. In my opinion, it really needs to be changed other than that, I highly recommend the office."

She and her staff are professional, encouraging, and effective at creating a plan to best suit your needs to ensure your path to a successful recovery. Amy's approach is personal and customized, always with your best interest at heart. She provides focused 1:1 attention while providing feedback on how you're doing. She really excels at explaining the various techniques she's implementing and truly cares about you as a person, not just as a patient. I also had a couple sessions with Dr. Alex for a different issue: vertigo symptoms. He did a very thorough assessment up front to determine the root cause and, through well-established balance techniques, provided me with immediate relief. In addition, Front Desk Coordinator Kim is so friendly, welcoming, helpful, and efficient at scheduling and managing any insurance questions. Overall, a great experience, a very comfortable environment, and an extremely supportive team. I'd highly recommend them!"

"Linda Raby was my awesome therapist at First Fysical Therapy in Huntley that treated my frozen shoulder. I cannot say enough good things about her and the exceptional care I received. From my first appointment, I knew I was in good hands with an experienced & caring therapist that knew what she was doing. I made tremendous progress by my 4 week evaluation and was released from PT 4 weeks later. Previously I had gone to another larger PT clinic in the area for 7 weeks of treatment. Linda was my primary PT and she did a great job of helping me get my knee strengthened along with my hips, calfs and ankles after knee surgery. "I had a great experience with 1st CHoice Fyzical at the SH location. Stephanie has been my PT since November 2019 following shoulder surgery for rotator cuff repair. I have found her to be extremely competent and knowledgeable. I enjoyed the way she explained the exercises and provided comparisons for me to remember how to perform them correctly. For instance one was to do the YMCA when stretching my arm with the dowel rod. Additionally she was always watching me, even if with another patient, to insure I was performing the exercises correctly. She was always on time and has such a personable way about her. The amount of individual attention I received here vastly outweighed the services I got at various other PT places. Normally, a PT has multiple patients and you’re doing exercises basically on your own, “seeing” your PT for about 10 minutes. At 1st Choice, the PTs have 1-2 patients at a time. At least half of my appt I was receiving feedback about my form, etc. The entire staff helped me so much in managing my Work Comp case. Finally, the atmosphere at 1st Choice is so beneficial. Amy works hard to create a warm, open community. Having a friendly environment where everyone is going through the healing together is such an underrated part of the healing process, and 1st Choice has it! I never write reviews, but 1st Choice is SO good, I can’t recommend them enough."

"I let everyone I know about 1st Choice FYZICAL Therapy. I’ve had a numerous amount of surgeries and I continue to deal with a chronic condition for the past four years. Amy, at 1st Choice, has worked wonders for me. I have been able to stop many of the medications subscribed to me from numerous doctors. Amy is kind; knowledgeable; patient; and she is great at explaining how your body works and reacts to different exercises. The office is friendly, comfortable, and extremely clean. Kim operates the front desk and she is always friendly and helpful with scheduling. If you want to see improvement and be treated with care....go to 1st Choice!"

"Dr Amy Zornow is great. Very personable and personalized treatment. Oftentimes I get complete one on one attention- usually there’s no more than maybe 2 max 3 clients at a time at least during my appointments. You get more attention than at some of the other larger chain physical therapy companies. Front office staff also very helpful and friendly."
